| The Center for International Trade in Forest Products (CINTRAFOR) is a national research center focused on assessing problems and identifying opportunities related to the international trade of forest products. Important areas of research include analysis of trade policies and their potential constraints to trade, international market assessments, economic analysis, and technology transfer of US construction techniques and value-added wooden building materials. CINTRAFOR’s research results in a variety of publications, professional conferences, and consultations with public policymakers, industry representatives, and community members. Located in the PNW, CINTRAFOR is administered through the College of Forest Resources at the University of Washington under the guidance of an Executive Board representing both large and small companies, public agencies, and academics. Supported by federal, state, and private grants, CINTRAFOR’s interdisciplinary research is carried out by university faculty, graduate students, internal staff, and through cooperative arrangements with professional groups and individuals. | | |
