Description
木材製品国際貿易研究所は木材製品貿易に関連する問題提起とビジネス機会の創出を目的に設立されました。特に重要な研究領域として、各国の貿易政策の分析、輸出障壁の除去、国際市場の評価や経済分析、および米国建築技術と木材新製品の技術伝播などが挙げられます。同研究所の調査の結果は文献として出版されたり、専門家の会議で発表されたりするだけでなく、政治家、産業界や地域コミュニティーの政策決定を助ける手段としても使われます。太平洋北西部に位置する当研究所は、ワシントン大学森林資源学部に付属しており、大企業、中小企業、政府機関、学会等から構成される執行理事の管轄に置かれています。当研究所は連邦政府、州政府、企業等の資金援助によって運営されております。大学の教授、大学院生、および専属スタッフが専門集団や専門家との連携をとりながら、総合学際的な研究を行っております。
